Finance Business Specialist – IFRS 16

One of the Big Banks, Downtown Toronto

1-year contract


Brief Project Description:

The implementation of IFRS 16 requires substantial work around:

• Process mapping and documenting for audit purposes

• Building and defining controls for compliance with SOX standards

• Population testing and tracking for completeness

• Manhattan system testing


• The CRE Finance team focusing efforts on IFRS 16 currently includes a Director and Senior Manager collaborating with a cross functional team

• The cross functional team includes employees from CRE Portfolio Admin, Global Integration, Procurement, CAO IT, Finance Change Management, and the Accounting Policy Group

Daily Responsibilities:

Variable, but often includes:

• Attending cross functional team meetings and recording/integrating decisions into documentation

• Ad hoc data compilation and accuracy tests

• Manhattan system testing and maintenance

• Process documentation and mapping


• CPA or CPA candidate

• Bachelor degree concentrating on accounting and/or finance required

What program/technology/software knowledge is essential for this role and in what capacity will the successful candidate be using it:

• Visio (training available)

• Manhattan (training available)

• Microsoft Excel (pivot tables/equations/functions, Macro usage not required but preferred)

Must Have Skills:

• Accounting proficiency

• Microsoft Excel (pivot tables/equations/functions)

Nice to Have Skills:

• Programming

• Data Analytics
