We are recruiting for a Finance Manager position on behalf of our client, a building and construction services firm, located in Vaughan. This role will oversee daily divisional accounting processes to ensure timeliness and accuracy.  

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general accounting duties
  • Develop and maintain forecasts and provide support for annual budgeting process
  • Prepare, analyze and review WIP reporting for high profile projects and serve as a business partner to project heads
  • Monitor status of maintenance agreements to ensure agreements are both renewed and billed in a timely manner
  • Manage the Service Billing and Collections team to ensure invoices are finalized, issued and collected within established deadlines and drive to maintain acceptable WIP balances
  • Identify intercompany recoverable expenses and ensure intercompany billings and reconciliations are done on monthly basis
  • Run reports on work order margins, work orders by type, sales, budget to actuals and report to VP; investigate and resolve all discrepancies
  • Prepare monthly P&L package and provide insight into monthly performance
  • Identify the appropriate accounting treatment for transactions, and prepare/post general accounting entries, including month?end entries

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-4 years experience in construction or engineering with a focus on project strategy and costing
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA)
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem?solving skills
  • Proven experience working closely with Project Management teams
  • Strong Excel capabilities
  • Ability and willingness to learn and develop professionally and personally
