Our banking client is looking for a Project Governance Officer for an immediate 12-Month Contract located downtown Toronto. 

 

This position lies within the department of the Project Governance Office

Profile:

Governance Officer

  • The Governance Officer supports the governance of projects within the group's Portfolio and is responsible for ensuring governance frameworks (PMF) is adhered to. 
  • The role is also responsible for timely scheduling of the governance forums, taking the minutes at the Governance meetings and following up on actions or conditions of approval.
  • The role will engage with Project Managers, Program Managers, Finance and other key stakeholders to provide support for all governance activities including maintenance of the project applications (SharePoint etc)

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling Governance Forums
  • Accurate and timely completion of Forum meeting decks (ESG, PGG, NBC)
  • Accurately recording minutes, capturing actions, decisions and conditions of approval
  • Follow up on decisions and conditions from Governance Forums
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure that data is consistent with other sources of information including previous data received
  • Maintains reporting tools (i.e. SharePoint) to align with decisions reached at Governance Forums

Languages:

English, French (nice to have)

Certifications and Technology used:

Project Management Certification (i.e. PRINCE 2 Foundation / Practitioner) OR PMP is a nice to have

SharePoint administration – SharePoint is used to store project information and as a reporting tool

P2D2 – training will be provided

MS Excel – used for PGO reporting (red reports, financial information/reports)

MS PowerPoint – used for Governance Forum presentation material

MS Word – use for Governance Forum Minutes

Must Have Skills:

  • Ability to minute meetings accurately and succinctly
  • SharePoint administration skills
  • Advanced Knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Minimum 2 (5+ preferred) years’ experience of working in a Project / Project Governance environment
  • Strong Interpersonal skills and excellent team-player
  • Highly adaptive outlook with a willingness to work in ambiguous situations
  • Demonstrates strong personal initiative and self-motivation
  • Knowledge of Project Management Framework

Nice to Have Skills:

Business analysis skills; ability to interpret project information and recognize and explain the associated business implications
